We’re celebrating 50 years of Kushla by throwing her a surprise birthday party here in Melbourne! She’s been in Melbourne for over a decade, and Australia for over two and I don’t recall her ever hosting a birthday event. We’re going to rectify that by throwing a big obnoxious party filled with photos of Kush.

Join us on Friday 23rd October 2026, 6-11pm for drinks, good snacks, banoffee pie, and a celebration of all things Kushla. Whatever walk of life you shared with her, we wanted you to know that you’ve made an impression on her life and we know she’d love to see you there. She’s been totally in the dark about our party planning schemes since February and we’re hoping to keep it that way so whether you can make it or not, please help us keep this exciting secret a surprise for a little longer. We specially considered our invite list so please don’t share this private page with anyone!

We know some of you are very far from Melbourne and might not be able to come, if you’re keen to send a birthday video or message please feel free to email me at tatanja.ross@gmail.com and we can chat more.

Plus one’s are welcome (except for children and furry friends – sorry!) Please let us know their name when filling out their RSVP. Any last minute plus one requests are welcomed before Oct 15th as we need to know final numbers for catering.

The details:

• Fri 23 Oct, 6-11pm. Please arrive by 6:45pm latest if you want to be there for Kushla’s surprise arrival at 7pm.

• Rosamund Bowling Club at Robert Barret Reserve, 114-118 Rosamond Rd, Maribyrnong VIC 3032, Australia. There is onsite parking, plenty of street parking, and the 82 tram stops nearby.

• Venue is licensed and a limited bar and catering will be on offer.

For our friends visiting from interstate and overseas:

We’re based in Maidstone, VIC 3012 and Kushla will be staying in Yarraville for the birthday weekend (her actual birthday is Sun 25 Oct). If you want to stay nearby or within travel distance we recommend these suburbs:

• Melbourne’s West – Seddon, Yarraville, Kingsville, West Footscray, Footscray

• Brunswick / Parkville

• Melbourne CBD

• Moonee Ponds / Ascot Vale
